Experience and Acclimatization

GOAL:
Train on the course, develop skills during the final preparation period, engage in group interactions for mutual adjustments, and arrive as prepared as possible for the race on June 14.

  • 15:30: Recovery Bike Ride or choice (Flat Course)

 

Thursday, June 5

  • 09:00: Progressive Run (Davidson Mesa)

  • 14:30: Introduction and welcome (Bonna Coffee / Avanti)

  • 16:30: Recovery Swim (Scott Carpenter)

Friday, June 6

  • 08:30: Short Swim (Spruce)

  • 09:30: Long Bike Ride (Big Thompson or Ward to Nederland)

  • 17:30: Aerobic Test Course Run
     

Saturday, June 7

  • 09:30: Track Intervals

  • 15:30: Recovery Bike (Flat Course, Rabbit Mountain)
     

Sunday, June 8

  • 08:30: Transition Training (50km bike + 12km run)

  • 14:00: Free afternoon
     

Monday, June 9

  • 08:30: Pool Swim (Scott, Strength Session)

  • 19:00: Closing Dinner (Pearl Street)

  • 08:30: Swim with technique analysis (Spruce)

  • 11:00: Bike Ride (Lyons/Allenspark/Estes Park)
     

Thursday, June 19

  • 09:00: Run at Rollinsville Mountain

  • 15:30–17:30: Cris Lee Strength Session
     

Friday, June 20

  • 08:30: Swim session (Spruce)

  • 09:00: Long Bike Ride (Coal Creek Canyon)

  • Afternoon: Free time
     

Saturday, June 21

  • 08:30: Bike TT Team Work (Carter Lake and back fast!)

  • Afternoon: Free time

  • 18:30: Closing Dinner (Pearl Street)

The hotels are strategically located around the course perimeter.

While having a car is ideal for greater convenience in Boulder, the city is extremely cyclist-friendly, allowing safe and easy rides from any point.
